A girl in the ward, Cassie Ames, offered to do photo sessions for kids since she had made a Valentine's backdrop. I decided to take her up on her offer only to discover I had no idea what to dress the kids in. It was all sort of last minute and I was a little stressed about it (Ryan's only red outfit was too small), but I said a little prayer and then had an epiphany and they looked darling.
Ryan would not smile if his life depended on it and Lily smiled but not always at the camera. The best smiles came when Cassie's daughter Avalynn came down and acted silly. Sometimes adults just try too hard when all kids want is other kids around to be happy.
