Trip to Westminster

We decided to make a little weekend trip to Westminster. We headed down Friday night just in time to make it to the weekly Costco trip. We thought we might go swimming (it ended up snowing so we didn't leave the house), but Lily was so excited to try on her swimming garb. She can't wait to go to the beach in the summer, as you might be able to tell.
It was a little sunny on the drive so she had to get her glasses out.
Ryan walked around much of the store trying to give Mama Baer a DVD to buy and when he finally found her he threw the case in the cart, with much gusto, very happy to have delivered his goods. Lily saw a huge, two story playhouse and said, "Papa can build that." Now that he has done one play house (and she watched him put it together all day while giving encouraging words and telling him "good job") she thinks that that's just one of his roles as a Papa--spending 12 hours or more putting play houses together.

Ryan is such a poser and always posed for Diana's pictures. Do you think he's used to getting his picture taken now?

The Costco food area is now the place for daddy and Ryan to have sweet moments together.
It's better for everyone (especially the bread) when the kids get their own cart.
I don't  know what to say about these photos except that Ryan is a great dinosaur.

Friday night Lily was trying so hard to stay up late watching her new Mickey Mouse Club DVD, but she only lasted so long before she had to go to bed. Mama Baer watched with her and then Lily just excused herself to bed.

Jeff, Lisa, Sarah, and Ron played a couple games of cribbage (Sarah and Ron won both times) and listening to Jeff and Lisa was like listening to twins. They get a kick out of each other and had a great time despite their losing status, they are very funny to listen to.

Lily loved her new preschool book from Mama Baer

Jeff is deep in thought, probably wondering who is going to win some soccer game that will be played in Europe sometimes that day.
Thankfully Lisa does a good Elmo voice. It gives Jeff a break. Lily loves her story time.
Saturday was a snowy day so we were glad we had gone Friday night to avoid accidents. We just hung around for the most part but Jeff had to fit a bed in our car (so he can sleep in Ryan's room to help with the kids when the baby is born) along with Costco groceries and an industrial size storage rack, but somehow he did it. I think playing Tetris growing up has really come in handy for him. Ryan was shy for a bit, but he warmed up to anyone willing to give him sugar and followed them around. I took a nap with Ryan while Lily watched some of The Little Mermaid, colored, and played with her "friends."

Mama Baer told Lily a story about a princess named Sandy and she married a prince named Ronald. The story went on for a long time since Princess Sandy and Prince Ronald had children of their own and then grandchildren too. At the end of this long saga Sandy asked Lily, "did you like that story?" "Yes, but who's Ronald?" Sandy got a good laugh and couldn't believe she went through that whole story not only remembering Ronald's name, but holding that burning question in for so long.

It was so cold outside but Jeff loaded up the van and the kids and we were on our way. Lily had to sit in the very back to make room for everything but she seemed to like it which is good since that's where she'll be once the baby is born.

The kids were luckily happy to ride along with the bed and huge box.
Once we got home Jeff went to work to put the bed in the Ryan's room and reorganize it to make everything fit. He also got to put his old blanket his mom made when he was little, it's all coming full circle. He worked on his lesson and then went to work putting together the storage shelves, so he has been a work horse the last couple days.
