Today we geared up to hit the
snow. Ryan did not look too mobile in his suit. Lily was afraid to even step
foot into it. Once they got a bit more comfortable, they seemed to enjoy it. Lily
was doing bunny hops and walking up and down a little hill. I was showing her
how to make a snow angel, and she said, “Daddy, we don’t lay in the snow, we
lay at home.”
As I shoveled the walk, Lily
entertained herself on a bike and then a scooter. She was bored quickly, so I
told her to knock snow off of the bushes.
She took this task very seriously and was reluctant to step away from
the chore even when I put forward a fun alternative.
Eventually, Lily agreed to
walk over to the local park with me. En route, she decided that she did not
want to venture through any deep snow. So she had me bring the snow shovel and
pave her a route as we walked. What a princess! That lasted about two houses
before I ditched the shovel on the corner. By this point, Lily chose to be a
good sport, trudging two blocks through some high snow banks.
We made it and had the entire
park to ourselves. Turns out, slides are much faster when they have ice on
them! And swings are also slick. Fortunately for us, Tiffany was returning home
from the grocery store, so we were able to hitch a ride home. It was fun to
have daddy-daughter time and to find that Lily is always up for an adventure.
