Lily is in a music class called Sound Beginnings which is
run by someone in the ward, Kim Seyboldt. It is a great class and Lily loves
it. Last week the teacher asked if anyone wanted to sing one of the songs by
themselves. One girl volunteered (whose mom is also a music teacher) and the
only other volunteer was Lily. She did a great job singing and hit all the
notes and was very pleased with herself. There are puppets to make that go
along with the songs she sings and she loves to play with them as well. Her
favorites are “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” and you can put
little pictures of the animals she swallows in her mouth and then “Doggy,
Doggy, Where’s Your Bone” where one person hides the bone and the other person
has to find it. She also likes singing the solfeggio do-re-mi scale and do the
hand signs. That’s definitely more than I could do at her age!
