Lily started school this year at Resurrection Christian
School. I found out about it very last minute from someone in Lily’s dance
class but I was drawn to it because it had a 2 ½ year old class that did not
require the kids to be potty trained. Lily had turned 3, but was not yet potty
trained so this was the perfect option since I felt like she was ready for some
type of school. Two weeks after school started she was potty trained, thanks to
one whole potty training day at Mama Baer’s (we had followed the potty training
in a day program and Lily seemed very close, but she LOVED her pull ups and I
didn’t know how to make the full transition to underpants), so I was able to
switch her over to the 3 year-old class. Lily has absolutely loved it! She is
excited to go every time and loves her teacher Miss Mary and Miss Marissa. She
has made some friends in there and comes home telling me how she had fun
chasing Cooper or playing hide and seek. We went to parent-teacher conference
last week and the teachers were so impressed with all Lily knows: her letters,
numbers, alphabet, shapes, and she can follow directions and listens well. It
is so sweet to see how much she thrives in this setting and it’s great having
something twice a week she loves going to.
