| We always see lots of grasshoppers, so the kids were pretty excited when we saw praying mantis. They had to catch it and keep it for awhile. Max keeps looking for them, hoping to find another one. |
| One night Max wanted his basketball hoop by his bed. Max was lucky daddy was home to do this, since I'm not sure I would have. I don't know how he ever fell asleep, but it looks like the basketball is still in his hand. |
| The kids loves balancing these wooden people at the ice cream shop. |
| Lily doing selfies in her room. |
| Lily loves taking pictures. Max loves a good book on his mommy or daddy's lap. |
| And Lily is so good to read to him as well. |
| Max woke up from his nap so Lily kept him entertained by doing a puppet show until I got him out. |
| We went to a play put on by middle and high school students about women pirates. Lily and Ryan did a great job and made friends with the older woman sitting next to us. She had hurt herself so they were asking all about her injury and her grandkids and who she knew in the play. The second half of the show Blake sat by us too. |
| Lily's primary teacher gave us this hand me down dress, and Lily wanted a picture because she loves it so much. |
| Who needs to go to a pool or waterslide when we have a perfectly good one in our backyard? Jeff set this up and they played for a long time happy as can be. |
| At the library, the child who had signed up to read with Gremlin didn't come, so this man asked Lily if she'd like to take the slot instead. She was thrilled to get to read to the dog. |
| Ryan loves this too, but Max spends 20-30 minutes each time we are at the library doing this. He fill up all the slots, then empties them out and starts again. |
| Lily loves to listen to the primary music from the church website and read along in the songbook and sing. It's really sweet to listen to. |
| I finally finished our Disney cruise book! Hooray! And the kids love looking through it. So much work, but worth it. |
| We went to the Pickers (who are in our ward) garden in Nunn to harvest some vegetables. |
| Reading to three kids is always a little tricky for who gets to see the pictures. As you can see, Max has the next book ready that he wants to read. |
| We went to Windsor Lake with Cara Munson and her kids. We have never been in our three years living here. The water was cold and the sand isn't nice, but the kids had a great time. |
| Ryan wore himself out at the lake. |
| I taught Lily how to fold the konmari method and she is my laundry helper now! |
| She folded a lot of shirts! |
| My friend Kelly Huff was giving away this jeep. We had to get a new battery, but the kids are in heaven! They love driving this thing so much. There are two speeds and when Lily goes fast she always tells the boys to "hold on!" Ryan is comfortable driving it now too. I have wanted to get one for a long time, so I feel very blessed we got one for free! |
| Lily wanted to make pumpkin pancakes 100% by herself. So she did. She even cracked all twelve of the eggs. |
| First day of Kindergarten at Windsor Charter Academy. Lily got these little boots and is in love with them. Never has a girl loved her shoes more. |
| Lily and Jospeh. |
| Lily and Addy from church, holding hands walking in to their first day of class. |
| Mama Baer outdid herself again with this Anna cake. Lily is so lucky to have such a talented grandma! |
| Day two of school, still sporting those boots. |
Some big news for us. Jeff interviewed with Manor Care for a national sales trainer position back in March. He had several interviews and even flew out to Ohio to show some training, but in the end never heard back from anyone. We wrote it off and set our sights on other things. But then, out of the blue, he heard from Marty once more (who would be his boss if he got the job). They talked a bit more and when all was said and done, he got a job offer. We both felt really good about it, even though it would require lots of travel. Jeff asked about the salary and was never given a number, but was told what he put on his application was about right. When they finally came back with an offer, the salary was well below what we anticipated. We were both devastated. He wanted the job so much, but getting his MBA we anticipated a higher income. We both prayed again and felt like it was still a good job to consider. When the counter offer came, it wasn't as high as we had hoped, but they were going to go much higher than his old job, and when he graduates in December, they will raise the salary even more. We both felt good and he happily took the job. He has been so excited to start this and say goodbye to his old job. We have felt very blessed that this opportunity fell in our laps and even that it happened at this stage of his MBA program since it would have been hard to study as much traveling. He had his last day of work on a Friday, and started his new job on a Monday. So far he loves it and can't believe he's getting paid to do what he does.
| Jeff is off for a week in Toledo, OH for his new job. |
| Jeff ordered his very favorite Richard Scarry book, Cars and Trucks and Things That Go. He loved looking for Goldbug on every page. These kids are looking hard for him and having a fun time. |
| On her own, Lily cleaned my bathroom counter and mirrors. She just wanted to do something nice for me and she did such a good job. |
| Lily got some batgirl and wonder woman pajamas. She and Ryan had to model their batman garb together and even put on a show for me. |
| Sarah is home for a visit and the kids are enjoying some Michael time before he leaves. |
| Ryan likes hiding in the blanket closet. |
| Trying on a new helmet. |
| They made a boat and are off to sail somewhere! |
| Jeff took Lily and Max on a bike ride because Ryan wasn't home, and they rode far, but Lily was able to keep up. |
| A beautiful evening at the park. |
| If we can't find Max, he is often sitting in the garage in the jeep. |
| Looking good Ryan! |
| Hiding in the blanket closet is even more fun with you're even more crowded. |
| Going to the zoo. |
| Max loves the merry go round. |
| Jeff was so happy to discover that he had access to the hospital gym by staying in his hotel. |
