The blessing

It was so nice to be able to sleep in a little on Sunday. I actually didn't sleep in, but the fact that I didn't have to be anywhere at a certain time and wasn't getting up early to exercise made it feel exciting. My dad and I got to church early so we sat in the car for a bit and read from "The Screwtape Letters" since I have been reading that. We enjoyed it, but what was even more funny was a woman shared an excerpt from that book in her talk. And it was the very part we had just read! I guess we really needed to hear it.

Darin gave a beautiful blessing and Wesley cried the whole time. But Darin didn't let it affect him and he and Rachel seemed totally calm and collected. The rest of the meeting was absolutely amazing and one of the best meetings I have ever been to. It was a returned missionary and the mother of a missionary currently serving. What an incredible spirit and message and I felt thrilled to have been there. After church we went to Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathy's for lunch. It was so much fun to see cousins and aunts and uncles! I haven't seen many cousins for over 12 years at least, so it was really the best afternoon. We reminisced about the old days and I learned the rules to Mormon Bridge from Aunt Kathy again...I've been wanting to play for a long time. Sheri and Julia have amazing memories and could remember all sorts of things from their childhood. It's so neat to have these shared memories and experiences and it makes me happy when cousins get to spend time with one another. I just feel like it was a little slice of heaven to all be together again.

Cousins! It was so much fun to catch up with Sheri, Julie, and Ashley.

Olive wasn't so keen on having his picture taken, even after he got to wear the hat.
A lot of family came to support Rachel and Darin.
Funny seeing Sarah in Utah since it had been awhile since I saw her in Colorado.
