The kids stayed at Mama Baer's and Sandy was nice enough to share a little about their visit:
They really were wonderful for us - no fighting or crying (except when Ryan got up from his nap on Sunday). They are absolutely adorable for me and treat me like I'm the Queen of everything and everyone. When Ryan was excited and jumped on the couch while watching Mickey Mouse, I simply said, "Ryan, we don't jump on the couch at Mama Baer's house." He immediately said, "Ok Mama Baer." and he sat right down. That's pretty impressive for a 2 year old. Then he would ask if I wanted to watch Mickey Mouse with him and when I said "yes", he quickly moved to my chair and said, "Ok Mama Baer, you sit in your chair and I will sit right here next to you." as he climbed onto the arm of the chair and let me put my arm around him. I love the fact that both Ryan and Lily will let anyone read to them, but when it comes time to go to bed, they always want me to sing to them and rub their backs.
On Saturday, when Ryan took his nap, Lily helped me organize my jewelry and she sat on my bed and played with things and talked to me for 2 full hours! It was so much fun and she was so happy to do something with me that was "just for the girls" since Ryan was napping. She is such a little doll and so expressive. She would hold a necklace up and say, "this is so stylish Mama Baer" just like a teenager - where did she even hear that word? She's such a little lady and then she wanted to pick out my clothes that she wanted me to wear on Sunday. So funny! I love them both so much!
Lily was also quite taken with Michael. When he came upstairs on Sunday morning in his suit, she said quietly to Diana and me, "Michael is so handsome." and she wanted to hold his hand so he could take her out to the car. She also spent all her Costco time walking, running, talking and playing with Michael. He had both Lily and Ryan most of time while we were at Costco. They played hide and seek because there weren't that many people there. They had a great time.
